What steps are involved in getting a Vectra scan?
Step 2
Scan preparation
Before your appointment avoid makeup, fake tan, and heavy moisturisers.
Make sure to remove any jewellery.
Wear plain underwear that contrasts with your skin tone. The more skin you show, the more moles we can map!
Our team at DDMC will guide you on the day to ensure the best image quality.
Step 3 We create your 3D avatar
92 ultra high definition cameras capture images simultaneously in just seconds.
The software then takes around seven minutes to stitch them together, generating a 3D avatar with your moles precisely mapped.
Thanks to special lighting, your digital avatar has no reflections. This lets us see just beneath the surface of the skin and clearly view the patterns inside your moles.
Step 4 We capture detailed mole images
Next, we take gentle, high detail images of any moles that look a little different. These are carefully added to your 3D avatar so nothing is missed.
With this step, your first full 3D skin scan is complete.
Step 5Compare with previous scan
When you return for your next scan, we compare your new images with the previous ones.
This helps us spot any changes early and supports the earliest possible detection of melanoma.
